Hazrat Ali (A.S) was the icon and greatest luminary of Islam, he was the embodiment of spirit of Islam, the great warrior in the cause of Islam and a great saint too.

Ali had dedicated himself to the service of Islam during his life time. In those days, Arabia was famed for rhetoric and Hazrat Ali was the distinguished orator of the highest order. His sermons and speeches rank high in Importance and eloquence.

A collection of these, known as Nehjul Balagha was compiled by one of the greatest scholars, Sayyid Razi. Narrul Loali by Sayyid Imam Ziauddin. Gharurul Hikam wa Darul Kalam by Abdul Wahid.

Many scholars have published collections of short sentences selected and culled from Ali's sermons and speeches and these serve as sayings and maxims. Though, it is impossible in any translation to reproduce the quality of the original (Arabic) yet the English version has managed to reproduce, some of the excellence of the language.

These "pearls of wisdom" are truly eternal and of enduring spiritual significance, which are as relevant and befitting as they were fourteen hundred years ago.

There is a timelessness about them and transcends, the boundaries of race and creed in their message. There is a river of flowing enlightenments and every one is welcome to take their fill and enrich his or her life.
